The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), in collaboration with Columbia University’s Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education (GCCHE), invites researchers, students, professionals, and decision-makers to participate in this interactive session with the principal investigators of the IAI’s “Climate, Environment, and Health” (SG-CEH) seed grant program.
In “Adaptation to Extreme Heat and Health in Latin American Cities,” panelists will discuss how extreme heat, housing, green infrastructure, and socioeconomic inequality shape heat-related health risks, and what adaptation strategies—including physical and social infrastructure—can reduce exposure and vulnerability.
