Claudia Alarcón is a Mexican scientist who leverages her STEM expertise for science diplomacy, social impact, and innovation. She began her career in Mexico, earning a degree in Nanotechnology Engineering from ITESM, where she was internationally recognized as an outstanding student. Continuing her work in emerging technologies, Claudia simultaneously pursued a passion for science outreach and education, aiming to empower Latinos in STEM. She founded Ciencia Si, a social company dedicated to science outreach, where she had created and facilitated workshops, talks, and even collaborations with over 20 Nobel Laureates. Her commitment to capacity building led her to further her education with graduate studies in Cognitive Neuroscience at UCJC in Spain with a full scholarship from Edmond Rothschild Foundation, and a PhD in Educational Innovation, supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship. These diverse experiences equip Claudia to engage effectively with science experts, the general public, policymakers, and diplomats. As a Geneva Science Diplomacy Anticipator alumni and STEP Fellow at the IAI, she now fosters multilateral cooperation in science and technology, driving forward global scientific collaboration as a science diplomat.
