The Inter-American Institute for Climate Change Research (IAI) invites professionals, researchers, students, and decision-makers to participate in the free certificate course \u201cClimate Change, Migration, and Health in Latin America and the Caribbean,\u201d<\/strong> available in English and Spanish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Climate change is an emerging force that directly and indirectly affects the health of migrants in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Although the social and health risks of migration have been recognized globally, the influence of climate change on these processes remains poorly understood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This course seeks to bridge that gap by offering direct access to regional research that contributes to the global debate on health, migration, and social protection in contexts of mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Course content<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course consists of six thematic modules developed by experts from the region:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Climate trends and migrant health in LAC:\u00a0<\/strong>Analysis of the links between climate change and the health of migrants and refugees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Children on the move and climate vulnerabilities:<\/strong>\u00a0Exploration of how climate affects the health of migrant children, especially unaccompanied children.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Health of migrant women in adverse climate contexts:<\/strong>\u00a0Gender perspective on the impacts of climate change on migrant women.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Extreme climate and food insecurity:<\/strong>\u00a0Impacts of droughts, heat waves, and extreme events on food production and nutrition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Migrants in temporary camps:<\/strong>\u00a0Living conditions, health, and resilience in migrant transit spaces.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Immobile populations and health in climate-affected countries:<\/strong>\u00a0Challenges for those who do not migrate but face severe climate impacts.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Registration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The course is free, self-paced<\/strong>, and offers a certificate of completion<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
