{"id":11350,"date":"2025-11-13T17:38:40","date_gmt":"2025-11-13T22:38:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iai.int\/?p=11350"},"modified":"2025-11-13T18:04:52","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T23:04:52","slug":"new-iai-step-fellows-promote-biodiversity-and-the-bioeconomy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iai.int\/en\/new-iai-step-fellows-promote-biodiversity-and-the-bioeconomy\/","title":{"rendered":"New IAI STeP fellows promote biodiversity and the bioeconomy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) officially launched the 2025\u20132027 cohort of the Science, Technology, and Policy (STeP) Fellowship Program, with a thematic focus on Biodiversity and the Bioeconomy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now in its fifth edition, the STeP Program strengthens the capacities of early- and mid-career professionals working at the interface between science and public policy in the Americas. Fellows are integrated into host government institutions in the region, contributing to evidence-informed decision-making and regional cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first time, STeP is launching a cohort with a dedicated theme: biodiversity and bioeconomy. The decision responds to the growing demand from governments and partner organizations to strengthen scientific advisory capacities in areas of high socio-environmental relevance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Training, support, and alignment with regional frameworks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As in previous editions, fellows will receive training in science diplomacy, science communication, leadership, and transdisciplinary approaches.
