{"id":1645,"date":"2024-09-22T14:13:14","date_gmt":"2024-09-22T19:13:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iai.int\/respuesta-en-clima-y-ambiente-para-la-salud-en-las-americas-iniciativa-de-financiamiento-para-la-formacion-e-investigacion\/"},"modified":"2025-11-14T10:14:19","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T15:14:19","slug":"respuesta-en-clima-y-ambiente-para-la-salud-en-las-americas-iniciativa-de-financiamiento-para-la-formacion-e-investigacion","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/iai.int\/en\/respuesta-en-clima-y-ambiente-para-la-salud-en-las-americas-iniciativa-de-financiamiento-para-la-formacion-e-investigacion\/","title":{"rendered":"Climate, Environment, and Health for the Americas &#8211; Training and Research Funding Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Climate, Environment, and Health for the Americas (CEH) initiative is aimed at enhancing the capacity of professionals and institutions across the Americas to address challenges at the intersection of climate, environment, and health through a transdisciplinary approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In its first phase, more than 100 participants attended a certificate-based online course, including government officials at the national and sub-national levels; members and leaders of communities, and civil society; knowledge users, and researchers addressing key sectors (medicine, epidemiology, public health, environment, climate, weather\/meteorological services).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants were trained in transdisciplinary research by Gabriela Alonso Y\u00e1nez and Lily House-Peters and in science communication by Angelo Attanasio (Latinoam\u00e9rica 21), Marcelo Rinesi (Axenya), Ana Pais (Radio Ambulante), Pamela Poo and Juan Sarasua (Divulgaci\u00f3n Cient\u00edfica). The course is also featuring case studies by Gilma Mantilla (Pontificia Universidad Javeriana), Stella Hartinger (Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia), Nicole Arbour (Belmont Forum), and Mercy Borbor-C\u00f3rdova (ESPOL).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In its second stage, participants met in person to attend the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.iai.int\/en\/post\/detail\/REGIONAL-WORKSHOP-ON-CLIMATE-ENVIRONMENT-AND-HEALTH\">Regional Workshop on Climate, Environment, and Health<\/a> in San Mart\u00edn de los Andes, Province of Neuqu\u00e9n, Argentina. In the workshop, they met with experts and facilitators to work on the final draft of their research proposals.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the third and final stage, teams that were awarded a seed grant are expected to complete their research by 2024.
