SBSTTA-21 will consider biodiversity-related scenarios and other scientific and technical information, including that drawn from work prepared for third and fourth editions of the Global Biodiversity Outlook, complemented by an assessment of the links between elements of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and the targets under the Sustainable Development Goals, drawing on information available from previous analyses.
SBSTTA will consider a progress report and technical guidance for better governance towards a more sustainable bushmeat sector; technical guidance to support consideration of biodiversity and ecosystem management in the application of the “One Health” approach.
In addition, SBSTTA will consider information identifying key scientific and technical matters relevant to the mainstreaming of biodiversity in these sectors; a draft workplan, proposed budget and draft communication strategy for the fifth edition of the Global Biodiversity Outlook.
CBD delegates will review methodologies applied towards evaluations of the effectiveness of measures or policy instruments, including on experiences and lessons learned in their application and the submissions of proposals for new and emerging issues relating to the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the use of genetic resources.
