Signing of the agreement on the establishment of the IAI Directorate Headquarters in Panama

The Executive Directorate of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) and the Government of the Republic of Panama have signed the Agreement on the establishment of the IAI Executive Directorate's headquarters in that country. The signing ceremony took place on 21 June 2024, in Panama City.

The establishment of the IAI Executive Directorate in Panama marks a new stage in the Institute's history, benefiting from the leadership of this country in strengthening science and policy, and leveraging its robust connectivity, both in the Americas and globally.

The IAI Executive Directorate expresses its gratitude and acknowledges the Republic of Panama's commitment to the Institute's mission of fostering scientific excellence, international cooperation, capacity building, and knowledge exchange to realize the vision of a sustainable American continent. Additionally, it extends special thanks to the Oriental Republic of Uruguay for its generosity in hosting the IAI Headquarters for the past 10 years, providing resources that have been fundamental to its management.
