Daniella has a master’s degree in Urban Planning from McGill University in Canada and she is pursuing a PhD program in Urban Planning at UFRJ in Brazil. Her research focuses on how to create transdisciplinary awareness, policies and effective interventions at different scales to make urban areas in Latin America more resilient to extreme heat. She is also interested in adapting public transit and active transportation to climate change and in sustainable urban water management. Before joining the IAI Directorate, Daniella worked for two Canadian engineering consulting firms dedicated to major transportation infrastructure projects, where she developed skills in project management, bid coordination, feasibility studies and the coordination of multidisciplinary technical teams. At the IAI, Daniella supports the coordination of research funding.
