Daniel Pinillos holds a joint-PhD in landscape ecology and resource conservation from Wageningen University and Montpellier SupAgro. He also holds a joint-MSc degree from the University of Freiburg and the University of Eastern Finland. He has more than 12 years of research experience in Guatemala, Brazil, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, and France. His research and professional interests lie at the intersection of landscape ecology and land change science for policy and technical advice. He is also interested in critical environmental humanities. Daniel has expertise in applying and integrating GIS, statistical, and mixed-methods models and tools for the implementation of landscape research approaches at local and regional scales.
