The call for expressions of interest has been announced for the project “Catalyzing Unconventional Collaborations in the Global South for Urban Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA)” in collaboration with EPIC-Network. The project aims to provide seed grants of up to USD 37,500 and organize face-to-face workshops to support four EbA projects in Latin America and the Caribbean.
This project is funded by the EbA Global Fund, supported by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) of Germany, and is co-managed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and its partners. Institutions from 29 countries in the region, including Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Venezuela, are eligible to apply.
Details on deadlines, eligibility, and application procedures are available here:

The funding seeks to mitigate key barriers in EbA projects, such as lack of financial mechanisms, governance, and knowledge gaps. Applicants must adopt a transdisciplinary approach and follow the EPIC model, which fosters collaborations between universities and communities. Priority will be given to projects involving emblematic ecosystems identified by the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
