Carolina is a fisheries ecologist specializing in the ecology and biology of threatened fish species, with a particular interest in how fishing pressures shape the population structure and size distribution of species with complex life histories. She supports the Marine Corridor of the Tropical Eastern Pacific (CMAR) in its efforts to conserve migratory species through collaborative monitoring, stock assessments, and capacity building among CMAR member states. By integrating marine ecology, fisheries science, and policy, Carolina promotes the sustainable management of species that are both ecologically significant and economically important.
