Andrés is a biologist with a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the Universidad del Valle, Colombia. His research focuses on the ecology of species interactions, biodiversity, and conservation within agricultural, forest, and native ecosystems. He has conducted scientific research in institutions across Colombia, Mexico, and Argentina. Currently, he is completing a conservation project on two endangered tree species of the genus Magnolia in Colombia. Andrés is a CREA CONICET posdoc with a project aimed at developing improved satellite monitoring tools to assess the conservation status of native forests in the Gran Chaco. The goal of this work is to enhance management strategies in agroproductive contexts. Andrés has authored international peer-reviewed publications, a book chapter, and science outreach materials.
