Climate-Sensitive Infectious Diseases: Dengue, Water, and Environmental Risk
Webinar Series 2026: Climate, Environment and Health for the Americas
Date: 14 May 2026
Time: 11:00–12:30 (UTC-5)
The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI), in collaboration with the Global Consortium on Climate and Health Education (GCCHE) at Columbia University, invites researchers, students, practitioners, and decision-makers to join this interactive session with Principal Investigators from the IAI’s Climate, Environment and Health (SG-CEH) seed grant program.
This session will explore how climate variability, environmental change, and socio-ecological dynamics are shaping the transmission of dengue and other climate-sensitive infectious diseases across Latin America. Drawing on research conducted in Peru, Guatemala, Argentina, Colombia, and Cuba, speakers will present innovative, community-based, and transdisciplinary strategies to strengthen prevention, preparedness, and response.
The webinar will also mark the official launch of the first SG-CEH project briefs, providing actionable insights to inform policy and practice across the region.
